Sunday 4 September - Eigg

After a comfortable night and late breakfast we went ashore and explored The Sgurr.  This is a dramatic ridge at this end of the island, which in addition to its spectacular appearance has an unusual geological history.  We climbed to the top and enjoyed the views all round, then walked with difficulty through the steep rough ground at the sides to see details of the geology, but did not find any fossilised pine trees.  Got back to the cafe just in time for tea and cake. See track of the trip.
