After a stop for touristical shopping and a cup of coffee, we headed for Mackinnon's Cave. We had our sandwiches while the rain streamed down the car windows and then decided we might as well get wet and find the cave. Too late to get inside as the tide had come up too far, but found many interesting stones on the beach (the sort that look ordinary when you get them home).
On the way back we stopped at Calgary Beach (the place in Canada is named after it) but found nothing of interest on such a wet day. On the way back we stopped at the Am Birlinn restaurant for tea and scone. Chatted with a man who runs one of the excursion boats from Ulva Ferry to Staffa and Treshnish.
It still seems quite sheltered at the pontoons - seems the big winds don't start until sometime tomorrow. The long-forecast depression is ex tropical storm Katia. See track of the day.
