A fine day with good forecast for tomorrow as well – time to visit some small unsheltered anchorage rather than hang about in Tobermory. Bought bread and went to say hello to Bob and Joyce (and also check out their magnificent and huge boat!). Could not refuse a brief cup of coffee, resulting in a late departure just before 12. After a bit of motoring a sea breeze appeared and we sailed well enough apart from being into both wind and tide.

I kept thinking that we should have gone North with following wind and tide to the Small Isles. Anyway we had to motor and eventually reached the Treshnish Isles and followed the invisible leading marks to the anchorage. The only boat present weighed anchor and left, so we had the island entirely to ourselves. Best Island so far. Brilliant views all round. Saw the old cottages, puffins, rabbits, terns, cormorants and lots of others. Heard the corncrake calling and seals singing. This is by far the quietest place of the whole trip so far with no sound of boats, cars, planes or anything. Looking out after dark the only light was the small lighthouse at the N end of the Treshnish Isles – no lights from houses, cars, ships or anything else.
