Friday 1 July 2011 – Lismore to Loch Corrie

OK, you might think that’s not making much progress towards Oban.  That’s not the point. The idea is to look at a few interesting places rather than rush about all the time.

Loch Corrie from the hill
We had been recommended to visit the restaurant on Loch Corrie, so as there was no wind and it is quite near (Just the other side of the Lynn of Morven or Loch Linnhe) we thought we would motor over and take a look.  A light wind came up so we sailed over and picked up one of the visitors’ moorings.

The restaurant is The Boathouse, part of the Kingairloch estate. A quick look at the menu convinced us that it was worth a visit, so we booked a table and went for a walk up the mountain at the head of the Loch to work up an appetite.

An exciting find

Found Spur-winged Plover (supposed to live in Turkey so it might have been something else) or maybe Golden Plover, Red Deer stag, deer antler.  Finding the antler improved Pam’s mood as she had become a little grumpy after tramping over miles of trackless boggy mountain.

Excellent meal, with quite a lot of local produce.
